Senior Targeted in Chain Snatch Attack

BRONX, NEW YORK, MAY 24- Police are on the lookout for a chain snatcher who attacked an elderly man in University Heights.


At around 4:15 p.m. on May 16, a 73-year-old man was attacked in the lobby of his University Heights home. Inside the lobby of the Sedgwick Avenue building, the robber threw the senior to ground and ripped the gold chain from the victim’s neck. Cops say the attacker then fled with the chain on a bicycle. 


Police released a photo of the gold chain which had a crucifix and a boat wheel and anchor on it. 


The suspect is described as a black male wearing a white t-shirt and dark shorts.
