BRONX, NEW YORK, OCTOBER 8- Tireless community activist Irene Estrada of Allerton has thrown her hat into the highly contested runoff for Public Advocate after recently accepting the nomination from the little-known War Veterans Party.

Estrada, a grass-roots organizer with strong times to the local police precincts and community boards, goes against Catherine Guerriero, a professor at Columbia University; Brooklyn Councilwoman Letitia James; Reshma Saujani, the founder of a Manhattan non-profit, and Daniel Squadron, a State senator currently representing parts of Brooklyn and Manhattan.

Running in the November 5 election, Estrada, an ordained minister, vowed to bring, "equal representation for all communities to have a voice that will bring results," if elected.
