BRONX, NEW YORK, April 18- The Fordham Road Business Improvement District (BID) will host the first ever series of outdoor movie nights at Fordham Plaza throughout the summer of 2013. The line-up of these free events is as follows:
Friday, April 26th, 8:00PM: The Amazing Spider-Man
Friday, June 28th, 8:30PM: Despicable Me
Saturday, July 27th, 8:30PM: Megamind
Friday, September 6th, 7:30PM: Up, Brave & Oz: The Great Powerful (social media vote)
This is part of a larger BID initiative to expand the BID's boundaries into Fordham Plaza and neighboring commercial properties. There will be police presence at these events to ensure safety. Bring a chair or a blanket and enjoy the shows!
The Fordham Road BID is a non-profit corporation under contract with the City of New York to provide supplementary services to the community. The BID focuses on sanitation, beautification, promotion and overall advocacy of the Fordham Road area – striving to make the district a more attractive and dynamic locale in which to shop, work, and visit. The BID boundaries extend from Third to Jerome Avenues along East Fordham Road and also includes the commercial areas on select side streets.
The district is comprised of approximately 80 buildings and almost 300 businesses ranging from nationwide chains to locally owned independent shops.
