 (Photos by David Greene)

A four-alarm fire in the Woodstock section has injured three firefighters and two police officers, but residents escaped without injury. The Red Cross is currently assisting six of the 11 families that were left homeless for the holiday's after the Sunday, December 16 blaze.

Officials say the fire broke out on the top floor of 603 Jackson Avenue and quickly spread to two adjacent three-story buildings. Several ground-floor businesses were also destroyed. The fire department continues to investigate the cause of the blaze. The injured were taken to Lincoln Hospital and were all expected to recover.
