BRONX, NEW YORK, APRIL 14- A motorcycle rider
is expected to survive after he slammed into an automobile driven by a man
fleeing a gunman in Wakefield.

Police were called to the intersection of
Wickham Avenue and Pitman Avenue, at 6:30 p.m., on April 12.

Police say an unidentified 24-year-old
male was shot in the hip as his assailant pumped a half dozen
shots into his black sedan, before stepping on the gas-- when
the motorcyclist slammed into the side of the fleeing vehicle, at
the intersection of Baychester and Nerid Avenues.

The 42-year-old motorcyclist was reported in
serious, but stable condition at Jacobi Hospital.

No charges have been filed against the
shooting victim and police continue to search for the gunman.
