BRONX, NEW YORK (BRONX NEWS)- Cops are on the hunt for a bank robber who struck in a heavily trafficked area of Riverdale.
At around 3 p.m. on Monday, the bank robber struck Chase Bank located at 5581 Broadway. Terence O'Toole, commanding officer of the 50th Precinct, told the Bronx News that the robber passed the teller a note demanding cash and claiming he had a weapon. The teller gave him an undetermined amount of cash and he fled on foot.
Residents were shocked by the bank robber's brazenness. That bank is front of not only a bus stop but the entrance to the Number 1 subway line on West 233rd Street. It is also a highly trafficked commercial street.
Captain O'Toole said the bank cameras had great footage of the robbery and it should lead to an arrest. The suspect is described as an African-American male is his 30s.
